Aisha Dikko, Vice President.
Dikko is a seasoned environmental specialist, public administrator, and community development advocate with over 20 years of experience in marine environment management, sustainability, and gender-focused initiatives. She holds a B.Sc. in Botany and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri, alongside multiple international certifications in marine governance, environmental policy, and project management.
From 1998 to 2022, Aisha served in key roles within Nigeria’s marine sector, rising to Directorate Cader of Marine Environment Management. She played a leading role in implementing international conventions such as the London Protocol, IMO regulations, and Marine Litter Action Plans. Her responsibilities included environmental impact assessments (EIAs), pollution control, dredging approvals, and inspections of offshore infrastructure.
She also contributed to global initiatives like the UNEP-GPA/NIMASA marine litter project, the National Task Force on Marine Litter, and attended capacity-building workshops in Namibia, Ghana, and Dubai.
Beyond marine policy, Aisha worked with the World Bank’s Fadama III Project, leading community programs on gender mainstreaming, sustainable agriculture, HIV/AIDS awareness, and renewable energy. Her early career included reforestation and desertification control as a Forestry Officer in Yobe State.
A recognized voice in environmental sustainability and gender inclusion, Aisha continues to offer strategic leadership nationwide.
